Phi Day (φ)Phi Day is on 6th Jan of every 100 years! Last time it was on 6-Jan-2018, next Phi day will be on 6-Jan-2118.It is observed on 6-Jan of the year ending with 18 because the golden ratio (approximately 1.618) is denoted by the Greek letter phi (φ). This ratio is used by artists for paintings (long side to short side), in architecture, etc. • the first digit (1) makes up the month Jan (1) • the second digit (6) makes up the day (6) and • the next 2 digits (18) makes up the last 2 digits of the year (18). ∴ 6-Jan-2018 was observed as Phi Day.
