Multiplying a number by 25Trick here is to: first divide the number (328) by 4, which is 82; then multiply the result (82) by 100, which is 8200.First divide the number by 4 and then multiply the result by 100. This method is applicable for all the numbers which are multiplied by 25 since 100/4=25. Similar method can be applied: • when any number is multiplied by 5. In this case, first divide the number by 2; then multiply the result by 10. ( 10/2=5 ) • when any number is multiplied by 125. In this case, first divide the number by 8; then multiply the result by 1000. ( 1000/8=125 ) In general, the above method is applicable whenever any number is multiplied by 5n.
