Common mistakes made when solving the problems on Integers

Though the students enjoy solving the problems on integers, however in many cases they tend to make mistakes. These mistakes could be because of carelessness or because the child did not under the concept properly. It is always a good idea to be aware about the common mistakes which students usually make so that these can be corrected from the early age. Here are some of the common mistakes which students usually make when solving the problems on integers.

☞ 1 is the smallest prime number

The smallest prime number is 2.

  • Prime number are numbers that is divisible only by itself and 1. The prime numbers are 2, 3, 5, 7, ... of which 2 is the smallest.

    • ☞ 0 is the smallest natural number

    Smallest natural number is 1.

  • Natural number are also counting numbers which starts from 1.

    • ☞ 1 is the smallest whole number

    Smallest whole number is 0.

  • Whole number are numbers starts from 0.
